In 1991, Olay was the first mass-market skincare brand to offer Anti-Oxidants and UVA/UVB protection.
In 2000, Olay Total Effects was the first mass skincare range to introduce the powerful anti-ageing ingredient Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, which is proven to strengthen the skin barrier and to help restore a youthful skin appearance. A great anti-ageing multi-tasker, Niacinamide helps overcome visible signs of skin ageing such as tone, texture, enlarged pores, dark spots, dryness, and loss of radiance and firmness. Niacinamide is now present across most of our products, combined with further powerful ingredients.
In 2002, Olay was the first mass skincare brand to use peptides. Olay Regenerists’ key ingredient is the Amino-Peptides complex (PAL-KTTKS), which is 8 times more expensive than Platinum, helping the natural production of collagen for firmer looking skin and reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Peptides are present in our Regenerist line-up, in combination with Niacinamide.
In 2018, Olay brought to the market a new skin care experience with the Olay Whips collection with Active Rush Technology, for women who want a moisturiser with a truly lightweight feel, but without having to compromise on performance.
